Walks in the New Forest - This section of the website is not quite complete as we're devising our own routes and walking them before publication. Try the walks below in the mean time.
This circular route is about 4 miles. It starts and finishes at the Foresty Commission Godshill Viewpoint Carpark, and takes in woodland, village beauty and stunning views from Castle Hill.
Although only a 1 mile loop, this one is worthy of a mention. On a hot summer's day this could be ideal, with breath-taking scenery and a pint at the end, with the locally popular Horse and Groom.
This Ashurst to Brockenhurst walking route was posted by a contributor on the BBC H2G2 website. It's a brilliant little walk in the summer, rich in wildlife and atmosphere. An added bonus is that although it's a linear walk, there's a very regular (and scenic) rail service between Ashurst and Brockenhurst. When we last checked, the trains ran direct hourly, with a journey time of 11 minutes. The fare was £3.60 for an adult.
